He is best known for his rollercoaster ride storytelling which has the audience gripping their seats with laughter. Always emotionally charged and usually a riot, Phil captivates the imagination of his fans with his remarkable freestyle routine. His whacky tales have scooped him the British Comedy Award for best stand-up and a Perrier nomination. Join us to get lost in Kay-world!

This will be the second show in our new venue Shamrock Bar (C/Tallers 72), with good Guinness on tap and a jam session afterwards!

Phil Kay is the mad comedian with the method. Take the right sized crowd (full house), add comfortable surroundings (Shamrock Barcelona), a scattering of Scots who idolise him and an open-minded audience and you get pure comedy magic. At first his sweaty acrobatics and lunacy seem like just an act of showmanship, but then his comic ramblings hit home and get good; really good. He loves his art, during the break he lets the audience go but he never stops, never misses a comedy beat; his twangy guitar absurdities are both spontaneous and brilliant. He’s about as easy to decipher as a James Joyce novel. But just like the Odyssey, Phil Kay is a classic, a true original and well worth the journey.
